About Math Rocks!

Math Rocks Live isn't your typical student incentive program. We transform mastering key math concepts and achieving academic goals into an electrifying rock concert celebration! Since 2009, we've been helping students across Texas experience the joy and power of academic achievement in a truly unforgettable way.

Here’s our exciting formula: students work diligently towards mastering essential math concepts, like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Once they achieve these goals, their reward awaits—a high-energy rock concert, right in their school gym or cafeteria! This is more than just a reward; it’s a celebration of hard work, perseverance, and success that students will remember for a lifetime.

Imagine the thrill of students seeing their efforts culminate in an unforgettable concert experience, where they and their teachers can let loose and have fun together. This shared celebration not only motivates students to achieve their academic goals but also strengthens classroom morale and fosters a lasting love of learning.

At Math Rocks Live, we believe that learning should be both rewarding and fun. By turning academic achievements into an epic concert experience, we help students associate success with excitement and joy. Ready to transform your classroom into a rockstar zone? Book your Math Rocks Live concert today and watch your students shine!

Hi, We are Jenny and Tony Peña, the founders of Math Rocks Live LLC  and we are on a mission to connect the most important  math skill of all, learning basic math facts to a unique incentive of earning a Rock concert for doing so.

We are a married couple who combine 32 years in the classroom as a Math Staff Developer for the 4th largest school district in Texas for Jenny with over 30 years as a lead guitar player in multiple Texas Rocks bands for Tony.

In 2009, as a teacher, Jenny saw the need for students in the elementary grades. Students were  struggling with math because they did not know their basic facts. SheI kept looking for ways to reach students who seemed unreachable, the scores that would not improve no matter what she tried.  As a wife of a rock band guitarist she saw an opportunity to combine the two worlds so she asked Tony if he could get some of his musician friends together and do a concert as a new incentive and Math Rocks was born.

Students who knew their math facts at a basic level set by each individual campus saw motivation, confidence and scores on tests and state assessments soar. As a reward for learning their facts they earned a ticket to a rock concert at the end of the school year.

What is more motivating than a chance to go to a rock concert, meet band members, receive a concert t-shirt and get autographs from actual rock and roll musicians?

What Our Listeners Are Saying!

Hello, my grandson goes to Driggers and said he had a lot of fun watching your band perform yesterday. His second-grade teacher sent a video and he was dancing in the front. He said you were awesome. Thank you for giving him an excellent memory.

Our Story

Transforming Learning Into An Adventure With Math Rocks Live

Math Rocks was started by Jenny and Tony Peńa in 2009. As a former math staff developer and instructional coach for the 4th largest school district in Texas, Jenny struggled with finding the right motivation for students to want to learn their basic math facts. She continued to see students struggling with math because they did not know their basic facts. She kept looking for ways to reach students who seemed unreachable, the scores that would not improve no matter what she tried.

As a wife of a rock band guitarist she saw an opportunity to combine the two worlds. Students who knew their math facts at a basic level set by each individual campus saw motivation, confidence and scores on tests and state assessments soar. As a reward for learning their facts they earned a ticket to a rock concert at the end of the school year.
